A warm but windy Sunday morning saw the U8's visit West Wickham who had narrowly beaten them in the first game of the season.

Chislehurst began the first half with many of the team being given the opportunity to play in different positions but with the advantage of the slope and the wind in their favour.

Both sides created a number of half chances; however Chislehurst took the lead from a long range free kick which evaded both defenders and attackers before slipping through the goalkeeper’s legs. The away side then forced a series of corners and from one of these doubled their lead with a well taken header.

The second half was reminiscent of a scene from the Alamo. With the wind at their backs Wickham came forward time and time again but were unable to make their dominance count. Through hard work and determination Chislehurst were able to hold out until very close to the end when Wickham managed to bundle the ball home for a well deserved consolation goal.
