Sun 14 Jan 2007  Cup
CWFC U15 1
Catford Exiles 4

This rearranged cup match got off to a good start with both team competing to keep keep possession of the ball in the early stages. Chislehurst started well with some promising attacks but Catford forght strongly in midfield and started to keep the ball better. A well worked move down the left hand side led to a super cross and finish by the Catford forward to give the away team the lead in this cup tie. Two stunning long range shots moved the score on to 3-0 at half time altough this did flatter the away team slightly.

Chislehurst came out fighting in the second half and competed much better all around the pitch not giving Catford time on the ball. This led to a goal with a fine through ball to the Chislehurst forward who seemed to take an age to slot the ball home.

Chislehurst then threw caution to the wind in the last 20 minutes pinning Catford back in their half with a stream of corners and free kicks. The Catford keeper some how managed to keep out two long range shots from the home teams and also pulled off a great goal line save from a corner to protect their lead.

With Catford tiring under the pressure it seemed only a matter of time before Chislehurst scored again. The "Ohs" and "Arhs" from the crowd was testiment to the excitement created by the players of both teams.

With time running out Catford broke down the right and a cross was converted for a goal after rebounding off the bar. The final whistle followed before the re start with the score at 4-1 to Catford.

Catford were given the home sides best wishes for the rest of the competition as they contributed fully to an excellent cup tie played with great sportsmanship and effort.
