Sun 11 Mar 2007  League
Orpington B FC 6
CWFC U15 0

Chislehursts good run of form came to an abrupt end away to Orpington this weekend. The game started very scrapy with long balls being fired from both teams to either end of the pitch. The downhill slope and the wind advantage should have given Chislehurst the advantage but the away team never got their usual passing game going and the wide players, usually well supplied with passes and support never got into the game. Orpington took advantage of a delay in a defensive clearance a ball put across the away teams six yard line was easily converted to make it 1-0 to Orpington. Although the away team tried to up their game once again Orpington struck when a good cross was met by the Chislehurst defender who got their first to clear the ball but only managed to clip it into the top corner of the goal to make it 2-0.

The score remained at 2-0 until half time. The Chislehurst team came out in the second half fired up but very quickly went 3-0 down again to indecisiveness in their own box. If anything could have gone wrong today for the away team it did go wrong. Another own goal and two more failures to clear their lines ran the score up to 6-0, Chislehursts worst defeat of the season.

The away team did manage to compete in the last 10 minutes and tried their best to get some passing going and an attack or two did lead to some crosses a corner and a shot.

Orpington thoroughly deserved their win as they showed more desire and commitment to win the ball in all areas of the park.

However, this was a bad day at the office for all involved with the away team and everyone needs to get behind the team to support them on their final push to finish as high up the league as possible this season.
